I want to thank everyone who has joined the Big Year in a Little State! During the year I will post walks you may be interested in and some special birds that are being seen. If you have any pictures to share I would love to add them to the site. You can always email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a picture of a bird you aren't sure about.
January has been an interesting month at feeders. I encourage you to keep those feeders full and take notice of any usual birds that you may see. A Cape May Warbler was seen in Peacedale, a Baltimore Oriole was seen in Saunderstown, Pine Warblers, Fox Sparrow, Purple Finch and Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers are also being seen .
Many of you may have heard that a very cooperative Yellow-breasted Chat has been seen at Seapowet Marsh in Tiverton. As well as a Vesper Sparrow and the continuing Sandhill Crane. I was lucky enough to be able to see the Yellow-breasted Chat with Mike Kieron last week. Thank you Mike for sharing your picture!
This week's Wednesday Morning Bird walk (1/27) is being held at Sachuest Wildlife Refuge at 9:15 a.m.. I hope to see you there!
